One of the surprising things we've found since launching the campaign is the amount of debate there has been over whether or not we should be feeding foods containing carbohydrate to cats. There have been lots of scare stories about rice and other carbohydrates being linked to serious health problems including obesity and diabetes, but after much research, I've finally come up with some really strong evidence which should allay these fears. It comes from Dr Buffington at the Ohio State University, and he has studied the subject in detail and concluded that there is no evidence linking carbohydrate in foods and diabetes or obesity in cats which is great news!
I was on the London radio station LBC on Monday as part of a debate on whether or not dogs can be gay (!) - but I managed to steer this rather strange discussion around to pet food and the campaign, so hopefully lots more people will have heard about what we're doing and think about what they feed their pets!
